AUMA Drives \u2013 Your Trusted Gearbox Manufacturer in Germany<\/h1>\n

As developer and manufacturer for gear unit solutions, AUMA Drives contributes many decades of experience to the AUMA Group. The company history dates back to 1896. Finally, in 1991, the former Getriebefabrik Coswig (GFC) joined the AUMA Group.<\/p>\n

Today, AUMA Drives is a globally acting expert partner for customised gear units and drive solutions. Experienced R&D teams as well as qualified skilled workers warrant top quality during development and production of gear unit solutions for various industries. Today, gear units by AUMA Drives operate reliably in the world’s largest solar thermal power plant in California or in the world’s largest sea water desalination plant in Dubai, for example.<\/p>\n

The company in Coswig near Dresden has two production units with approx. 200 employees. Apart from the 4,500 square-metre assembly area, the AUMA Drives location has its own R&D department and a test centre <\/a> with diverse test equipment for quality assurance.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][\/vc_section][vc_section el_class=”historie hg-grau”][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text el_class=”text-linie-top”]<\/p>\n

1896 \u2014<\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”3\/4″ offset=”vc_col-xs-9″][vc_column_text]The Maschinenfabrik Pekrun<\/a> was founded by Professor Herrmann Arthur Pekrun in Coswig. The number of employees had increased to its peak of 1,200 employees in 1929.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/4″ offset=”vc_col-xs-3″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

1949 \u2014<\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”3\/4″ offset=”vc_col-xs-9″][vc_column_text]In the newly founded GDR, the factory was turned into a state-owned company and renamed as VEB Getriebefabrik Coswig (GFC).[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/4″ offset=”vc_col-xs-3″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

1989 \u2014<\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”3\/4″ offset=”vc_col-xs-9″][vc_column_text]Up to the political turnaround, the company had further specialised and turned into the sole manufacturer of worm gear units in the GDR. GFC exported its goods to Eastern Europe, France, the Netherlands and Western Germany.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/4″ offset=”vc_col-xs-3″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

1991 \u2014<\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”3\/4″ offset=”vc_col-xs-9″][vc_column_text]The AUMA Group<\/a> from Muellheim realised the potential of the top-grade worm gear units made in Saxony for their own product portfolio and beyond. The AUMA Group took over the company. In 2005, the company was renamed to GFC AntriebsSysteme GmbH.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/4″ offset=”vc_col-xs-3″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

2016 \u2014<\/h3>\n
